2010 Eken cup celebrates 35 years. The tournament is constantly changing. Last year we had approximately 1 700 participants from Sweden, Poland, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Our ambassadors around The Baltic Sea have done a great job getting so many participants to Stockholm. 2009 was also the year where we had more foreigin finalists than ever before.

Along with our ambition to attract more teams to the tournament we constantly try to improve the quality of our guestcards. Today you get free travels with the metro, by bus and commuter train in Stockholm.

The work with our very own Childrens Convention, wich is the adaption of hte UN Childrens Convention, will in 2010 highlight the article regarding saftey of children. We want all leaders and coaches to be the role models that all children needs to become great people and handballplayers when they grow up.

Referees registration now open

Start the summer and be a referee at Eken Cup. As usual we need a lot of referees. So even if you can only be a referee one afternnon or two, please register because we need everyones help. Last year over 2 000 matches were played.

We hope that you’ve already noted all four of our tournament days in June and we look forward to reciving your registration as referee. The last date to register as a referee is 2010-05-07.

New web

As you can see, Eken Cup have now launched a new website which will make it easier to find information and for us to communicate with you.

One of the major features on the new website is the online registration to the tournament. All registrations is now made online, and you can also pay directly with credit card or via bank.

Anton and the web celebrates 10 years

I first meet Anton on Eken Cup 1999. He was the youngest player on the whole field, with the biggest shorts.

Then years later Anton still plays handball and in the sam club, Handen. Even though he’s also have been to som other clubs along the way. Today he plays in Handens A-team and is still the youngest one in the team, but now he fits his shorts. “Today I play handball just for fun”, says Anton and adds that he’ve never missed a single Eken Cup since 1999.

Eken Cup’s website was first launched in 1999 and during the years we’ve developed it and not missed a single tournament. Recently we released a new version and now you can even register online.
